Dr. Melody Davis
Veterinarian, Medical Director
Dr. Melody Davis attended NC State University for both her undergraduate and veterinary degrees. Upon graduation from vet school in 2008, she practiced large animal medicine, predominately equine medicine, in rural eastern NC. In 2012, Dr Davis joined the TCVS team. While she no longer practices large animal medicine, she still enjoys quality time with her own horses. She and her husband live in Mebane with their many fur babies, and love to travel, especially to Disney.
Dr. Tom Redding
Veterinarian
Dr. Redding is the proud former owner of TCVS where he has worked since 1986. He attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island with a double major in biology and art before earning a DVM degree from Ohio State University in 1984. He enjoys every interaction every day with the clients, the patients and the staff at TCVS providing education for owners and quality surgical and medical care for large and small animals. When not at work he and his wife Sallie tend to a farm in Silk Hope with donkeys, goats and dogs…or they may be fishing, hiking or camping in the mountains of North Carolina or elsewhere.
Dr. Derek Heizer
Veterinarian
Dr. Derek Heizer joined our clinic in June 2016. He received his BS in dairy science from Virginia Tech and then went on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. Dr. Heizer lives in rural Alamance County with his wife and two dogs. He enjoys working with and showing his Holstein and Brown Swiss cattle.
Dr. Aleyda Plagge
Veterinarian
Dr. Plagge grew up in a small town outside of Tallahassee, FL. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biological science at Florida State University. She then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Midwestern University. She enjoys working with all species, but she especially likes goats. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and hanging out with her cat Jeff.
